Sail and trek in Gocek gulf in Fethiye on Lycian Coast

Itinerary

Sail and Explore

Day 1 : Boarding to our gulet and check in and leave port of Fethiye.

Today we check in to our yacht traditionally called gulet which is a wooden motor yacht built in local shipyards. Our gulet is our home for 3 nights. We meet with our crew and after a welcome drinks and meeting we sail to a closer bay near Fethiye. Boarding time is 16.00pm.

Day 2 : Breakfast then sail to Aga Limanı and Trek to Lydae and our yacht take us from Sunken Bath.

After a traditional breakfast on board, today we sail to Aga Limanı bay, one of the best coves of Kapıdag peninsula. There is no acces from land to hear and the sea has every different tones of blue. We start our hike from Aga Limanı and reach to Lydae ancient city. he city of Lydae, one of the westernmost of the Lycian region, is still a riddle for most scholars.

Located in the middle of a peninsula, in a basin surrounded by mountains, the site is reachable only from the sea. Being well hidden by the natural landscape, the town remains outside the usual tours and is rarely visited, even by specialists. We reach the site at its highest point, where two commanding Roman monumental tombs (heroa) built in the first century AD stand like guardians of this sleeping beauty, which is otherwise lacking in any kind of fortification walls. Although partly destroyed, these monumental tombs which once belonged to distinguished citizens of the community still stand over twenty feet in height. They offer some of the finest architectural remains scattered among the ruins, some of them carrying the name of the owners, such as Diophantus, son of Heliodorus, whose family members are mentioned many times on the inscriptions lying on the site. These once lavish buildings are a testimony of the wealth and social organisation of the community which inhabited the area, and rare still-standing witnesses of the scale of the funerary practices of the city’s Roman elite at the beginning of the Christian era. The existence and state of preservation of those tombs are all the more surprising since the remains of the rest of the city seem comparatively scarce.

We trek to Sunken Bath Bay from here and overnight in bay.

Total trekking distance 9km 4 Hours, ascent descent 450m.

Day 3 Trekking grom Sunken Bath to Martı Koyu

Today we start our day with a morning swim near sunken bath. This is known s roman sunken bath however ruins dates back to 13th century monastery submerged because of earthquakes. The tral starts near sunken bath bay and we trek today 7km 3 hours along the caost . Our yacht take sus from Martı bay and we overnight in Martı Koyu.

Day 4 Sailing to Fethiye

After a early morning sail from Martı Bay, we enjoy our breakfast during the sail. When we reach Fethiye at 10. 00 and leave the yacht and check out.
